God, it's been a hellish day. I was three minutes late for work yesterday and as I'm pulling in teh parking lot I get a phone call from Andy asking where I was. I think he thought I was still in bed. That or his Dad put him up to it. Either way, it's uncalled for over three minutes, especially when Andy, by his own admission, averages about ten minutes late. I think it may be more likely that it was his father because Carl didn't seem like he was in the greatest mood, Tammy was out "sick" and I'm not sure what is going on with Debbie because there was a new girl doing her job. Which also kind of pissed me off because it was only yesterday that they had taught me to press, and here they go and hire someone else to do it - moreover, someone in whom it was obvious that they had had even less experience with this than I had - and I had only had one day. And of course, with Tammy out - I might add that Andy and Co. seemed to think it was for real this time, but I could have told them yesterday if anyone had thought to ask. Her boyfriend was getting out of jail last night and she was stressing because all his stuff was packed away because she was going to send him packing - no pun intended - because Debbie had set her up with this new guy but he turned out to be this total a** so now she wanted to get back with Will even though technically she never broke up with him and was stressing about how she was going to unpack all his stuff and get everything ready by time he got out - anyway, with Tammy out, that meant that I was back to working with Peg. Though I must say, I have the perfect solution. I simply work on laundry as much as can reasonably be expected and say "if you need me holler." Works wonders.

So today I'm off of work because of a doctor's appointment and I had hoped that I would find out what my book was worth while I was at it. I found out. It turns out that it's worth absolutely nothing because the "genuine Puccini inscription" is a dedication to the Queen of Italy that's in every copy of that book. I'm so disappointed. I just got off the phone with the gentleman who owns teh store - and he was about as excited about teh whole thing as I was - and he had talked with a friend of his in New York who deals in copies of music and that's what he said. I had really hoped that it was worth something because that was my last hope for everything. I don't know where the money is going to come from now - and it has to come from somewhere.
